Area information of Yomiuri Land MaeStation
Station overview
Yomiuriland-mae station is in Tama ward in Kawasaki city, and lies on the Okdakyu Odawara line. It opened in 1927 as Nishi-Ikuta station, but changed its name in 1964 when Yomiuri Land was built. The current station building was completed in 1995. Several train services pass through the station, which serves 35,000 people per day, mostly on the weekends as people head to Yomiuri Land. There is an elevator and escalator, as well as an accessible bathroom for a barrier-free experience.
Places to see
Near Yomiuriland-mae station is Yomiuri Land, a popular amusement park. You can buy a day pass for the whole park, or just buy an entrance ticket and then pay for any individual attraction you wish. Recommended are the ferris wheel, merry-go-round, bungee jump, roller coaster, and haunted house. There is also a limited seal show. 10 minutes from the station is the Yomiuri Giants baseball stadium, where you can see pro baseball games.
Lifestyle
Yomiuriland-mae may be mostly known for its proximity to the amusement park, but past that it is mostly quiet residential neighborhoods. North east of the station you can find much greenery and other nature. There is also Yomiuri Land and the Giants baseball stadium. There are not many supermarkets by the station, but there is an Odakyu OX grocery store for your daily needs. There is also a 100-yen shop and drugstore nearby. 2 stations away is Shin-Yurigaoka station, with a large shopping center, and you can change to the Odakyu Tama line. This is a popular bedroom town area for Tokyo, able to reach Shinjuku in around 20 minutes.
